Today, I was selected as a possible juror (someone who performs jury duty). However, the court decided that they already had enough jurors. Part of me wishes that I could have participated in the case to see what it is like in the courtroom. However, part of me is glad that I don't have to miss class (because of my wonderful students and also the money).
In America, the legal system includes lawyers, judges, and jurors. How does the legal system work in your country? Who decides whether a person is innocent or guilty?

The Legal System Work in My Country

Law is one of the difficult and interesting fields, especiallly the Legal system in the countries. I want to know that how the legal system works and who decides whether a person is innocent or guilty? So, I decide to come courtroom and to observe during processing time. In my country, the legal system is same in America includes lawyers, judges and jurors but have a little bit different. The Vietnamese Legal System is separated two level that to judge (a case) in the first instance and to review a judgement. The Jury has a Judge and two Juror of the People's Court, in especially, it can have two Judge and three Juror of the People's Court. Judge is a person who decides whether a person is innocent or guilty but must obey Legislature and Executive. The lawyer is only prepare all documents and proof witnesseses before the court. During to the court, the lawyer does not permit to invite a final witness. When the court finish, the lawyer can appeal against a decission to reduce the penalty. It is clear that the legal system in the countries has the same and diffirent things.

What is a Friend?

What is a friend? It is a difficult question because I think friend is a thing that have many related things like new friends, old friends, best friends, and how to make friends... and difficultly to have a clear and full answer. For many people, friend is simply a person who you know and is not relation. Another person show that friend is a person who spend time having fun, playing, asking advice, and to be loyal, etc... For I, friend is a person who I can trust, share problems, ask advice and help each other. When I am sad or have a difficult, I need a person who listen I say and give me some advices. I hope that that person can be one of my friends. I can have or not have a long distance with my friend but I show that if we are friend, we can share our happy and help us through difficult times. Having many ways to friends help each other, I and my friend can give advices together by email, telephone... Despite other important things like enjoy the same activities, like the same movies, sports... that I and my friend can give each other, I believe that can trust, share problems, ask advice and help each other are the most important things that friends can do for each other.

Write a narrative paragraph about an unforgettable experience in your life. This could be an earthquake like in the story on page 24 or it could be something different like your first dating experience. Be sure to use time order signals.

An Unforgettable Experience

I joined the volunteer students to celebrate the Vietnamese Women’s Day that is an unforgettable experience in my student life. The Vietnamese Women’s Day is a Vietnamese holiday to celebrate the brilliant exploits of Vietnamese women during the wars and that is the first time I joined a volunteer activity. Through this activity, I learnt many things about the works to hold a ceremony as well as about life and brilliant exploits of Vietnamese women during the wars. Preparations begin a month before this day. First, the government appeals to volunteer, especially students from the colleges and universities to help prepare parts of the day like the posters, the plays, the songs, the gifts, etc. Next the volunteers are divided into many groups with specific tasks. I was divided into the group to be responsible about the posters that show the brief life story of these women and the information about the ceremony. Soon, they start work. Two days before the Vietnamese Women’s Day, these posters are hung up on the trees in the city. On this day, the ceremony is held in the center park and includes many activities. First, a play celebrates the brief life story of one of these women. Then songs about their lives will be sung by the volunteer students and many famous singers. Finally, the government will give to the women who are still alive. Later the ceremony ends, everybody can look at the posters and pictures about their life stories and brilliant exploits of Vietnamese women.

A Person Who Has Made a Difference

A person who has made a difference is one of my friends. He is a real man, very kind person, and loves his family so much. In addition, he is very selfless. He is 28 years old but has not had any lover up to now and it seems like he is his mother’s property. He loves and respects his mom a lot. Everything he has done is for his family, not for him. For example, he always gives his mother all his wages. I think he lives for others and forgets about himself. He works so hard and does everything his mom wants him to do. I think that his mom loves him so much that she always controls him, and does not want him to do anything that anybody wants. Sometimes, he is really sad and wants to have a private life, but he doesn’t because he wants to help others. In conclusion, he is always willing to do things for others more than for himself.
